The bread we do not sell

There is a loaf on every table and it is not on the bill. A short defence.

The bread we do not sell

Our accountant would like me to charge for the bread. He is probably right.

But a table with bread on it is a table that has started. People tear it, pass it, and stop looking at their phones. It costs us about a euro a head and I think it is the best euro we spend.

What it is

A wheat and rye sourdough, baked at five every morning in the oven while it is still coming up to heat. If there is any left at midnight the staff take it home.

Come hungry. Bring people.

Come hungry. Bring people.
